Associate editor of BMC Research Notes
I've just become associate editor of a new journal: BMC Research Notes. See the list of editors here. I haven't received the first paper yet, but I look forward to doing this.

Letter to the editor,
I would like to submit my congratulations and to state that I expect that this event will be celebrated (=beer) at some point?

Roald, that sounds like a plan, but you are always so busy...
BTW, we should find that date for my talk at CLCBio soon...

Thomas, yes we should. We are putting a seminar series together these days and will get back to you real soon with some dates. Looking forward to that talk.

Hello
Congrats. When can we expect impact factor for this journal

Impact factors take three years, I think ... I think they need the average number of citations for the last three years (which means that it won't stabilise until a few more years after the first three...)

Is this journal even being tracked ? If so there should be some idea of what the IF will be.

Barbara: I have no idea if the journal is tracked. I'm not too keen on the whole Impact Factor idea to begin with, so I don't much care.
